Cenozoic atmospheric CO2, climate, and climate sensitivity

Over a mere few centuries, human activities may bring atmospheric CO2 to levels last seen millions to tens of millions of years earlier in the Cenozoic. These major changes in atmospheric CO2 will have far-reaching impacts on climate, sea level, and ecosystems. We are working to improve indicators for past pCO2 estimates, and produce new pCO2 estimates to give a better understanding of the sensitivity of earth’s climate and major ice sheets, to atmospheric CO2 concentration.
