Welcome, Maja! Maja joins the Climate Geology group for her PhD project on Miocene climate.
In her own words:
"In my PhD, I will generate new temperature and CO2 records for key climate transitions in the Miocene, a period of global warmth relative to today. In particular, I will analyze the clumped isotopic distribution in coccoliths, a so far less common paleotemperature proxy. Complementing the existing temperature records can help clarify if current mismatches between model and proxy-derived Miocene temperatures arise from inaccuracies in the previous interpretation of paleotemperature proxies."
